This year saw over 50 players and support crew from the Sydney Convicts travel to Western Australia for a weekend of rugby and mateship. Taking place across a two day tournament, both our Firsts and Seconds teams took to the field in the multi game event. (Watch a recording of day two)

It was our Firsts team that ultimately shone through in their division with a convincing win against the Melbourne Chargers in the final - leading the way with an outstanding win at 38-6.

Our Seconds team gave a valient performance in their division, particularly as it was many of the team's first year of rugby. In the end it was the New Zealand Falcons who stole the day winning the Purchas Shield.

Named after Convicts founding player Andrew Purchas OAM, the Purchas Cup celebrates great gay and inclusive rugby across Australia and New Zealand - bringing together teams from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and New Zealand.

A huge thank you to our friends at the Perth Rams for an outstanding tournament, and to all our Australian and New Zealand rugby brothers for a great tour!
